What Is A LimeLight Photofacial?

If Zooming into work meetings or Facetime-ing with friends and family has you considering a better skin care routine, you’re not alone. Now more than ever it seems that while we are hiding our faces out in the world, our on-screen face feels like it has so much more impact. Fortunately, at Cordial we offer a variety of treatments to improve your skin, so you can be camera ready anytime. The new LimeLight Photofacial can rejuvenate your face, minimizing issues like age spots, sun damage, and more.

What Is A LimeLight Photofacial?

LimeLight by Cutera is a non-invasive laser light treatment that targets pigment like age spots, sun damage, and rosacea. The Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) energy is converted to heat energy, which attacks the hyperactive melanin producing cells. The pigmented areas rise to the surface of the skin, scab over, and eventually flake off. As a result, your skin tone appears more even.

Where Can It Be Used?

We primarily treat the face, but Limelight Photofacial sessions can be done to the neck and décolletage.

What Is Treatment Like?

The pulsed light feels like mild stinging or pinching, which is offset by a cooling gel. Our clients report that pain medication is typically not required. Treatment generally takes an hour or less, depending on the size of the area.

During healing, the pigmented areas darken and your skin may be red and swollen. The redness and swelling subside over the next few hours to a few days. Complete healing from each session averages about 3 weeks. For maximum results, we schedule 1-3 sessions over a few months.
